There are so many reason in which we decided to choose bamboo as our material for our sustainable and eco friendly toothbrushes. To name just a few:
- Bamboo grows 3ft/1meter a day
- The plants can be fully harvested in 3years
- Bamboo is durable and strong and an example of it's strength is that bamboo used a lot in Asia to build housing and scaffolding.
- No need for artificial chemicals to cultivate (Bamboo shoots regrow naturally)
- Bamboo absorbs more Co2 than your every day plant and also produces 30% more o2 than your every day plant
- Studies have found that bamboo has Anti-inflammatory, Anti-fungal and Anti-bacterial properties
- The incredible root system that a bamboo tree products is excellent to inhibit soil erosion
- Extremely versatile so can be made into a wide range of products, forms and materials.
Our Bamboo toothbrush handles are completely biodegradable so unlike your every day plastic toothbrush they are kind to our environment and won't leak any toxins into our planet. With our Bamboo having anti-microbial elements to it, our @BambuuBrush will never grow any bacteria on the brush which keeps your oral hygiene in excellent health but also as its a natural product it does not harm the environment.
Charcoal Whitening bristles
Whiten your teeth with our PBT bristles are infused with activated charcoal. Activated charcoal has long been known as one of natures best absorbing and cleaning agents. Activated charcoal is a natural anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and antiviral agent. It detoxifies and deodorizes your mouth, balancing PH levels while absorbing odor. Not only this, but activated charcoal has powerful absorption abilities making it effective at removing surface stains from teeth leaving you with a brighter smile.
Biodegradable packaging
Not only is our toothbrush biodegradable, so is our packaging. The toothbrush comes in a completely compostable and sustainable cardboard box made from recycled kraft paper. We also avoid using plastic like bubble wrap in our shipping packaging. To discard of your packaging you can simply throw in your compost or food waste as it will decompose after month or so.
Our Bamboo
Our bamboo is grown naturally, without any added chemicals or pesticides of any kind and is sustainably harvested. When we say our bamboo is grown naturally, we mean it. It is grown in the sprawling Chinese bamboo mountain range and is never watered by us, only natural mountain rain. Our Mao bamboo is organic, wild and grows approximately one meter per day. Bamboo is the fastest growing plant on earth. Pandas DO NOT eat Mao bamboo, it is purely grown for commercial use, so we're not taking away from pandas food sources.
How to look after your @BambuuBrush
Keep it dry
After use, simply rinse toothpaste suds away with tap water and dry with a towel. Store your @BambuuBrush on a dry surface and you are good to go! As bamboo is a natural material it keeps best when it is left to dry out after each use. Your toothbrush may also change in colour over time, this is because our bamboo is completely natural with no chemicals used.
Keep it clean
Keep your toothbrush in good condition by ensuring you rinse the bristles thoroughly after using it.
Toothbrush lifespan
With proper care, your bamboo toothbrush will last just as long as a conventional plastic toothbrush. Dentists recommend replacing your toothbrush every 3 months, or when the bristles have frayed.
Disposal
When it is time to replace your toothbrush, simply snap off the head (unfortunately the bristles aren't biodegradable but they are recyclable) and return the bamboo handle to the earth. You can throw the handle into your compost pile, where it will decompose naturally. In compost, the bamboo handle will safely return to soil within six months.
